New regulations were introduced in March 2024 to ensure that all entities have an ‘appropriate address’ as their registered office. Companies House consider an appropriate address to be one where:

  • any documents sent to the registered office should be expected to come to the attention of a person acting on behalf of the company; and
  • any documents sent to that address can be recorded by an acknowledgement of delivery.

These requirements mean companies will not be able to use a PO Box as a registered office address, but a third-party agent’s address can be used if they meet the conditions for an appropriate address. It’s important to note that companies that do not have an appropriate registered office address could be struck off the register and will have 28 days to advise they are complying with the new rules.

What does CB Reid Offer?

CB Reid offers a service to clients whereby Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships can use CB Reid’s Wadebridge House address as their registered office address.

The use of Wadebridge House as a registered office address ensures that private / residential addresses are not shown on the public record at Companies House and, for those using our company secretarial service, ensures that your entity’s statutory registers are located at its registered office – a legal requirement where alternative provisions have not been made. Our ongoing service includes the opening of post, filtering of junk mail plus scanning and forwarding official correspondence, as well as the use of our agent email address as the entity’s Registered Email Address.

Furthermore, we will continue to display a list of entities which use Wadebridge House as a registered office – a legal requirement where a non-residential address is used.

The annual cost of this service is £100 + VAT. This single charge will cover the entity’s registered address and unlimited officers of the same entity, who also use Wadebridge House as a service address.
