Pete joined the firm in 2007 and is the managing partner of CB Reid. Pete trained with Deloitte’s small and medium enterprises department in London and spent 4 years there before working as an in-house auditor for Viacom Inc, a large multinational US company that owns MTV and Paramount Pictures, amongst others.

Pete has a specific focus on audit and tax and works primarily with owner managed businesses. Pete also specialises in the care and construction sectors.

Since joining CB Reid Chartered Accountants in 2008 after graduating from the University of Newcastle, Laura has gained extensive experience of preparing & advising on all forms of accounts from sole trader to limited companies and groups. As accounts manager, Laura can advise on bookkeeping, VAT return preparation, payroll & company secretarial functions. She is responsible for supervising the accounts team and trainees. Laura is a fully qualified ACCA accountant.

Matt qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008 and joined CB Reid in 2014 from a regional firm of accountants where he led a Business Services team.

A fellow of the ICAEW, Matt also holds full member status of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments following the completion of the joint ICAEW / CISI diploma in corporate finance.

Matt heads up the firm’s start-up and scale up service line where he advises businesses throughout the South from seed stage through to series A and beyond on matters involving raising equity finance (including SEIS / EIS schemes), employee incentivisation, cap table planning and financial modelling, alongside regular statutory accounts and taxation compliance.

Elaine joined CB Reid in 2022 as an Associate Tax Director and leads the personal tax function of the Dorchester office.

Elaine is qualified with the Chartered Institute of Taxation and has extensive experience in personal tax, Capital Gains Tax and all aspects of tax compliance. Elaine started her career with HMRC then moved to the private sector with Smith and Williamson before working at KPMG, dealing with high net worth individuals. After a career break to bring up her 3 children, she returned to tax 6 years ago, working in a local medical specialist firm, before moving to CB Reid. She enjoys working closely with her clients to give them the best possible service.

Ben joined CB Reid in October 2019 from a regional accountancy firm where his primary focus has been on the accounting and taxation of owner managed businesses.

Ben is ACA qualified and heads up CB Reid’s accounts team, ensuring the firm maintains its high levels of client service as well as mentoring and developing junior members of the team. In addition to managing his own client portfolio, Ben undertakes ad-hoc tax projects on behalf of clients.

Philip joined CB Reid in August 2020 as an Accounts and Outsourced Finance Assistant from a medium sized private limited company. Before this Philip worked in a regional accountancy firm undertaking work from accounting to taxation of owner managed businesses.

At CB Reid Philip is part of the audit and accounts team along with ad-hoc projects. Equipped with a comprehensive skill set, Philip excels in financial analysis, budgeting, taxation, and compliance. His proficiency in utilizing accounting software and his keen eye for identifying opportunities for cost savings have consistently driven positive outcomes for his clients and organizations.

Charlotte joined the payroll team in 2019. She began her career as a trainee accountant, and eventually became a management accountant in an industry role. She has previously worked for a popular high street clothing company and has over 10 years of payroll experience.

Charlotte also works alongside Sue to perform company secretarial duties.

Alice is part of the accounts team. Her primary focus is on small and medium sized limited companies, preparing year-end financial statements.

She also assists the outsourced finance team with certain VAT services as needed. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2021.

Ashleigh joined CB Reid in March 2022 as an Accounts and Outsourced Finance Assistant. Prior to this Ashleigh worked for an accountancy firm in Weymouth. At CB Reid Ashleigh is primary focussed on the preparation of financial statements, management accounting and other ad-hoc projects for SME’s.

Ashleigh is AAT qualified and is currently studying towards her ACA qualification.

Elaine joined CB Reid in March 2020 from a regional accountancy firm where she was a member of the Rural Accounts and Tax Team.

Elaine has 30 years of experience within Administration and is the Practice Manager/PA of CB Reid. Elaine supports the team with all their administration needs, as well as ensuring that systems and processes across the firm are robust and make use of the latest technology to help CB Reid continue to deliver a quality service to clients.

Shannon joined us back in November 2022 as an Apprentice Accountant. Before joining us, Shannon worked within the finance department for a local company, where she gained her bookkeeping skills.

Shannon has completed her Level 2 - AAT Foundation Certificate and Level 3 AAT Advance Diploma and will be working towards her Level 4 Professional Diploma In Accounting.

Conway begin his career as an accounts apprentice in an independent accountancy practice. He joined CB Reid in 2023 as a apprentice accountant working in the accounts team.

Conway is MAAT qualified and will be studying for his ACA qualification.

Maria joined CB Reid in 2020 as an Outsourced Finance Assistant and has since progressed to become the Outsourced Finance Manager. She looks after various clients with regards to their bookkeeping, preparation of VAT Returns and management accounts.

Maria is AAT qualified and has been a full member of AAT for over 10 years. She is also a certified advisor in both QuickBooks and Xero.

Maria is on hand to help with client queries they may have to resolve problems within their own bookkeeping software.

Sue joined the team in 2022 as an energetic and friendly receptionist with experience providing administrative support and customer service to clients and internal staff.

She provides excellent customer service and builds client relationships. Sue also works alongside Charlotte to perform Company Secretarial duties.

Heather joined CB Reid in early 2023 as a payroll assistant. Heather initially trained as an accounts assistant with a focus on bookkeeping and worked both in practice and industry before moving into payroll.

Heather has held payroll posts at a major supermarket and more recently for an umbrella company paying around 4000 workers per week. Towards the end of 2022 Heather completed the CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate.

Caroline joined CB Reid in early 2023 as a Tax Manager working closely with Elaine Chapman in the Dorchester office.

Caroline started her career in tax with Barclays Bank straight from school and then moved to the private sector working for a firm in Blandford Forum as their Tax Manager for 19 years. For several years she has been working with Elaine, for a local medical specialist and is very happy to be continuing this successful partnership at CB Reid.

Katherine is a Client Manager at CB Reid, working alongside Pete and Laura. Since joining the firm in 2012, she has trained and qualified as an ACA chartered accountant and now leads the accounts team together with Ben.

Katherine is responsible for managing workflow within the team. She is experienced in preparing accounts, as well as corporation tax and VAT returns. She also supports clients with their bookkeeping, company secretarial and payroll needs.

Katrina is a highly skilled and dedicated Payroll Manager with over 15 years of experience in managing payroll operations for small to medium sized organisations. Since joining CB Reid in 2016, Katrina has specialised in implementing systems for clients to streamline payroll processes, reduce errors and processing times.

As CB Reid’s Payroll Manager, Katrina is committed to continuous learning and professional development, staying current with industry best practices and legislation changes.

Heidi joined CB Reid in February 2024 from a regional accountancy firm. She has a decade experience in bookkeeping, being exposed to several different business types and complex bookkeeping in a variety of sector helping them step into the digital accounting world of cloud-based software.

Heidi is our Xero hero and is responsible for providing bookkeeping training and support, completion, and submission of VAT returns.

Outside of work Heidi is a Swim Coach, she loves tidy finances and singing to Radio 6.

Sadia is an Audit Manager at CB Reid, having joined the firm in March 2024. She is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Wales (ICAEW). With over 14 years of extensive experience, Sadia has a proven track record in the fields of Accounting, Finance, Risk Assessment & Internal controls, and Auditing, working with both medium and large-sized companies.

At CB Reid, Sadia is responsible to manage the Audit function and Audit Team, ensuring that audits are conducted in compliance with regulatory standards and delivering high-quality assurance services.
