The Brexit deadline of 29 March 2019 is now little more than a month away and little progress has been made in agreeing a deal with the EU. The prospect of the UK leaving without a deal seems to be increasing by the day.
If your business currently trades with the EU, you will want to ensure you can continue trading in the European Union from the 30 March 2019 in the event of a ‘no deal Brexit’. This will only be possible if you have an EORI number.
If you haven’t already done so, we strongly advise that you apply for your EORI from HM Revenue & Customs as soon as possible. The short application can be made online by following this link.
Recently it has been taking three days to be issued with an EORI number. However, we recommend that you should apply now as delays are expected with the deadline approaching.
The Government regularly post Brexit related news on the gov.co.uk website. Full details can be found here.
